Dublin Police Go to Bat for 3rd Annual Charity Softball Game

Batter up! Dublin Police officers and 911 dispatchers are warming up for the region’s annual law enforcement charity softball tournament, otherwise known as the “Sandlot Skirmish.”

The Sandlot Skirmish is planned to start 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at 3800 Veterans Memorial Drive in Hilliard.

This event includes police and fire teams from Dublin, Hilliard, Upper Arlington, Washington Township and Norwich Township. Through competition and fun, the tournament raises funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charity organization aimed at supporting first responders and military families.

“It’s exciting to be a part of this fundraiser for the third year now,” Dublin Officer Scott Nichelson says. “Not only is it a great way to bring our regional community together, but it’s all going to an important cause that supports thousands of families each year.”

Besides catches and homeruns, attendees can enjoy food trucks, raffles, a silent auction and T-shirt sales.
